Nutritional therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health and individual care. I work with my clients using only proven and effective nutritional medicine and the most up to date diagnostic tools to make small changes that drive lasting and powerful results. My scientific approach to nutrition looks at each individual as just that – an individual.

I work with a broad range of clients although my personal interest lies in women’s health issues such as PCOS, thyroid and adrenal function and particularly menopause.

Menopause

The menopause is when a women literally runs out of eggs which tends to occur after the age of 50 but can be seen in their 40s or even earlier for some. The symptoms produced during this time can be life changing – anything from night sweats to lack of energy and joint pain to name but a few. My treatment program would aim to alleviate some of the more unpleasant symptoms while at the same time encouraging optimum health so that your body can manage this natural event with ease.

Adrenal Fatigue

Adrenal health is a complex subject but an area which more and more people are presenting with.  Hormones such as cortisol, DHEA and adrenaline are produced by your adrenal glands which help to buffer stress and the many life demands we encounter. If exposure to stress becomes chronic, the adrenals can no longer keep up and symptoms such as lowered immune function, weight gain and disrupted sleep may be experienced. My approach would deal with the underlying issues as well as making some practical changes that will help re-balance your body.

General Health

Generally, most female health problems are triggered by the same mechanisms namely hormones, stress and nutritional deficiencies. Before any issues can be treated you need to address the fundamental basis of the problem and this is what I aim to do during consultations. My main aim is to target the cause, not just the symptoms and to help make some long term positive changes to your health and wellbeing.
