I hold a BSc in Psychology and am a Registered Nutritional Therapist. I was diagnosed with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) at the age of 39 which meant dealing with the many awful side effects that comes from going through the menopause. It became clear that the conventional medical approach to menopause can be sorely lacking and I set about researching how best to approach it from a more holistic angle.
As a result I decided to focus my practice on women's wellbeing and menopause in particular with the aim to help women get through this very challenging time with their sanity in tact!
Using only proven and effective nutritional medicine and the most up to date diagnostic tools, I work with my clients to make small changes that drive lasting and powerful results.
I am a full member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition & Nutritional Therapy (BANT). I am also a member of the Complimentary & Natural Healthcare Council.
The symptoms produced during this time can be life changing – anything from night sweats to lack of energy and joint pain to name but a few. My treatment program would aim to alleviate some of the more unpleasant symptoms while at the same time encouraging optimum health so that your body can manage this natural event with ease.
Adrenal health is a complex subject but an area which more and more people are presenting with. If exposure to stress becomes chronic, the adrenals can no longer keep up and symptoms such as lowered immune function, weight gain and disrupted sleep may be experienced. My approach would deal with the underlying issues as well as making some practical changes that will help re-balance your body.
Generally, most female health problems are triggered by the same mechanisms namely hormones, stress and nutritional deficiencies. Before any issues can be treated you need to address the fundamental basis of the problem and this is what I aim to do during consultations. My main aim is to target the cause, not just the symptoms and to help make some long term positive changes to your health and wellbeing.
